The 2003 Great Pottsville Cruise -- 10th Anniversary
All new this year: a 10.8-mile Cruise Route, reduced hold-ups, more cool-down area. Cruise will stage at Martz Hall beginning at 1:00 p.m.--Cars in the upper lot, trucks in the lower lot, and antiques in the designated Antique Division area. Judging will be done throughout the afternoon at Martz Hall. The Antique Division will begin cruising at 4:00 p.m., followed by the Main Cruise at 5:00 p.m.
The new Cruise Route (a 10.8 mile circle):
(Upper lot): Leave Martz Hall at 16th St, turn left on Maple Avenue, towards Mar Lin. Turn left on Westwood Road to Market Street. Turn left on Market Street to Centre Street. Turn left on Centre Street to Laurel Blvd. Turn left on Laurel Blvd return to Maple Avenue and continue.
(Lower lot): Same route in reverse. Leave Martz Hall on Laurel Blvd to Centre Street. Right on Centre Street to Market Street. Right on Market Street to Westwood Road. Right on Westwood Road to Maple Avenue. Right on Maple Avenue return to Laurel Blvd. and continue. Over 100 Trophies and Awards will be given out. To celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the Cruise, a commemorative dash plaque will be given to the first 1000 registrants of the Cruise. The dash plaques are sponsored by Leesport Bank.
The 2003 Great Pottsville Cruise will be a four-day event.
Thursday, August 7:
7 pm - 10 pm: (Teen Dance) D J Chubs, Union Station
Friday, August 8:
6 pm - 9 pm: Cruise-in to Coney Island downtown Pottsville
Saturday, August 9:
Noon - 6 pm: Cruise-in to Jerry's Classic Cars & Collectibles Museum
9 pm - midnight: Sock-Hop (details to follow)
Sunday, August 10:
Breakfast at the Yorkville Hose Company
1:00 pm: Staging for all vehicles starts at Martz Hall
1 pm - 5 pm: Start it off with DJ "The Doctor" at Martz Hall
4:00 p.m: Antique Division Cruise starts
5:00 p.m: Main Cruise starts
5 pm - 8 pm: Groove to the Rocket 88s at Yorkville Coney Island
5 pm - 8 pm: Stay in tune with Timepiece at Garfield Square
5 pm - 8 pm: Peach, Downtown Coney Island
5 pm - 8 pm: Spin to DJ "Now and Then" at Centre & Market
5 pm - 8 pm: San Antonio Rose, Pekaric's/Deangelos (Laurel Blvd)
7 pm - 10 pm: Finish up with The Mudflaps, at Union Station
