The official Cruise Car for the 2005 Great Pottsville Cruise was unveiled on March 20th at Losch Plaza. The car is a 1991 Corvette Targa Coupe.
This year's Cruise Car is once again being sponsored by Losch Internet Services of Schuylkill Haven. Non-profit organizations will be able to pick-up Cruise Car raffle tickets at the unveiling.
Last year's Cruise Car was won by the Jeff Fanelli family of Orwigsburg. The sale of Cruise Car tickets raised over $100,000 for local charities, fire companies, organizations, and other civic clubs.
This year's Cruise is once again gearing up to be a huge event. Three days of rock-n-roll and hot cars, August 12, 13 and 14. According to cruise chairman, Jerry Enders, the cruise has not only become a major fundraiser but also a major tourist attraction bringing cruisers from as far away as Connecticut, New Jersey, and other surrounding states. Last year's event drew over 1500 cruisers most from out of the area presenting a spectacular show for the people of Pottsville and Schuylkill County. The Great Pottsville Cruise is a Pottsville Lions Charities and Pottsville Pride event.
